Graffiti 360

In a world controlled by industry and the machine, this blog observes and critiques the world's true graffiti problem, which is advertising and marketing. From time to time, I'll also talk about art and interactive media. Or whatever else I feel like.

Shredding Secrets

I found this nice campaign for GBC Shredders. I think this is an Asian shredder companying, as their Web site is gbcasia.com.sg. They used a series of images that are supposed to show evidence of unproven occurances, like the shooter on the grassy knoll and Marilyn and JFK. Copy reads, "Keep secrets secret."

The Earth Is Pissed

That's right, the global warming that is our fault is ticking off Earth, and the design firm Earth is Pissed is letting people know about it with the help of art and design by Andy Powell of Scribble and Square. My personal favorite is the Earth pissing on the Hummer. Check out the series. You can order t-shirts and tote bags with the different illustrations from EarthisPissed.com.

The design firm told Communication Arts, "This project illustrates our denial of the current global climate crisis and intends to raise awareness about the harm we are causing the earth. These simple and catchy images are printed on recycled materials such as newspaper, print shop leftovers and waste."

I wonder though, is Earth really pissed about global warming? Some people think Earth is showing its displeasure by increasing the amount of natural disasters, but I think that's just a little Earth indigestion. Really, Earth is partyin' it up island style and we're freakin' out over its Industrial Revolution hangover. Its gotta be pleased with what humans have accomplished in the last 100 years. Temps are goin' up and soon, we'll all be on the beach! This is the vacation Earth has been waiting for since the last ice age. (sike)
